This year we are celebrating 25 years of continuous improvement and we thank our loyal customers and employees.

KMS has added another Quality Standard to its list of accreditation.  In April 2014 KMS obtained the Z299.3-85 Registration. This QA Program compliments our existing ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System, CWB 47.1 (steel) CWB 47.2 (alum) and TSSA (pressure piping).

Congratulations to Mike Longmire for 20 years of service to KMS! Mike started with KMS in the early years and continues to put forth excellent service and quality work for our weld shop customers. If you're in the shop and hear the sound of whistling, it'll be Mike!

THANK YOU to the Owen Sound Chamber of Commerce. It is a great honour to be choosen for the 2010 Community Service Award.  Kuhl Machine Shop Ltd. is just a small part of the thousands of people who make this great community what it is today.

We are proud to play an active role in this community by coaching minor sports teams, volunteering at local arenas, fall fairs, parades as well as supporting primary and secondary schools. As a small rural business, we understand the necessity of building and maintaining a positive relationship within our community.

Supporting our community and social responsibility has become a key component in the successs of our business for the last 21 years. On behalf of my family and staff, we sincerely thank you for acknowledging our community service in the community that we are proud to be a part of.

We have a Floor!  It took a lot of hard work to get it to this point, but it looks great!

The strapping for the exterior is completed and the steel roof and walls are started.  Take a look at the photos below for a sneak peak at the progress so far. We’ll post another video this week, but these pictures are worth a thousand words, well, at least a thousand nails, can you imagine how many are holding up that steel?  The crew is diligently working away and the progress has been great.

Inside the New Addition - The roof is almost on!

From the South West Corner - You can see one of the loading doors.

From the West Side, the row of windoes will let in a lot of light and a great breeze.

They have a good pace and we are on schedule to complete the exterior this week.  Once this is done, we’ll pour the cement floor inside.  We are using a special mix and process to ensure the floor is strong and prepared for the expected heavy traffic.  We already have the footings in place in preparation for the overhead crane.

You can see the row of windows along the west side, which will let in a lot of light and a good breeze on a summer day.  We have a loading area at the end of the 120-foot addition and another on the east side for easy access for transport trucks that deliver and pick-up.

BUILDING IS GOOD!

Click on the photo below to see the newest video.  You will see the Trusses are up and we are getting ready to strap the walls for the steel exterior.  Soon our 7200 square foot addition will be ready! Soon.

So at this point, the cement walls are poured and the drains around the foundation are in and we completed the back fill of gravel. We packed the soil around the walls, and inside the building. Three deliveries of wood joists, wood, doors, and windows arrived and we will be starting framing soon. There is a lot more activity to follow. We are taking down the west wing of the barn to make room for transport trucks to pull in or back up to our various shipping/receiving doors.
